The Solar Training Institute now offers a great opportunity for students that successfully complete the PV Design and Installation Certificate course. Our job placement partner, Velocity Energy Partners, has deep connections with a growing number of major solar employers throughout the solar industry that can provide STI’s students with various types of employment opportunities. STI students that qualify for this program will be introduced to VEP for potential employment opportunities in the solar field following the certification course.
Unemployment Retraining Benefits
The Employment Development Department (EDD) has unemployment has retraining benefits available for individuals who qualify to pay for your training at the Solar Training Institute. STI is registered with the State of California's Eligible Training Provider List.
If you are out of work and are receiving unemployment benefits through EDD, your local One-Stop Career Centers may pay for you to be retrained through the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) program. WIA funds a variety of employment and training programs for youth and adults in various levels of services depending on needs and eligibility.

The Solar Training Institute is partnered with The Westwood Group to provide you with another option to pay enrollment fees for solar training. The FlatRateFinance™ program provides financing to both individuals with good credit and to individuals that have credit challenges (they accept applications from borrowers with credit scores as low as 600). They even offer financing with No Credit Check & Zero Risk!

1MW Ground-mount Single-axis Tracker that VEP installed with a crew of 30 people. The project took 3 months from start to completion. VEP has supported projects all over the western US and now supporting projects coast to coast.
